The Agneta was built in 1948 for the Swedish engineer Oskar Wilberg, a unique inventor who had patented over 600 inventions, including a dozen related specifically to sailing boats. He wished to have a yacht that would maintain its high qualities for as long as possible. She was very well balanced, able to reach speeds of up to 15 knots, but even at these speeds retained all the comfort befitting a "gentleman's boat": she even had a marble fireplace and full bath. The first owner enjoyed the boat for eight years, after which she was repurchased by the famous Italian entrepreneur Gianni Agnelli, who moved her to the Mediterranean. Then she was bought by Giuseppe Antolini, who completely rebuilt her in 1987 and used her for racing.
The boat's current owner, German businessman Peter Engels, has recently carefully restored the yacht, considering her part of the history of shipbuilding and a monument to classic yachts.
