The history of the company

The German mechanic Rudolf Eberhardt and his partner Wolfgang Tiersch experimented in his basement in the early 60's with a new material of that time - resin. His friends worked on a new gypsum-based cruise boat. So, in 1964 the first Neptun was created, which became the foundation for the new Neptun Yachten shipyard.

The popularity of the shipbuilders came almost immediately and the partners had to leave the basement at Eberhardt's house and move to a more suitable location in Bielefeld. Neptun 14, Neptun 15 and Neptun 17 were built there.

In 1967, the company expanded again and moved its production to Lag. By this time, the company already employed 10 people. After only 6 years, the number of employees increased 18 times and the shipyard opened another factory in Tunis, which was closed down a few years later due to quality problems.

In 1978, due to the economic crisis, the shipyard had to reduce its production, reduce its model range and connect to the finishing work of a contractor, which became Sailing Crew under the direction of Jürgen Ernst. Unfortunately, these actions did not save the shipyard from bankruptcy in 1980. For another 4 years the children of Eberhardt tried to revive the shipyard, but in the end the shipyard was bought by Jürgen Ernst.

Status .

Today, the third generation of the Ernst family is at the helm of Neptun Yachten.

Production

After the change of ownership in 1985, Jürgen revised the business model of the company. He kept a small sailboat production, but placed more emphasis on service and repair. The shipyard was also moved to Reda Wiedenbrück. The company now owns one production building and an office.

Model range

The shipyard's range includes small sports cruising yachts, deacailers, lift keel boats and models with protected cockpit. The design of the boats was in many ways ahead of its time. Designed decades ago, the models are still contemporary and eye-catching today.

Features

Neptun Yachten was one of the pioneers of fiberglass shipbuilding.

The shipyard owns many interesting technical solutions, among which is the lifting roof of the superstructure realized on the model Neptun 20.

It should also be noted that since the 80s the company has not launched any new models. All boats produced today are modified followers of the previous series, which, however, does not reduce the number of fans of the shipyard.
